Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the processing of personal data by Practice for Integrative Child Therapy – Jantien van Zuilen, registered in the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 69032750.

Personal Data Processed

Practice for Integrative Child Therapy – Jantien van Zuilen processes personal data from you and your child because you make use of Integrative Child Coaching, Counseling, Therapy and/or because you have provided this data.

The following personal data may be processed:

  • First and last name
  • Address details
  • Date of birth
  • Telephone number
  • E-Email address
  • Family composition
  • Data obtained/observed during the provision of services
  • Other personal data you provide orally and/or in writing
  • Specific personal data necessary for the agreed services

Purpose of Processing

In accordance with Dutch law (WGBO – Medical Treatment Contracts Act), a client file is created for each child. This file contains personal data as well as the goals and process interventions per session, in order to ensure continuity and quality of treatment.

The treating Integrative Child Coach/Counselor/Therapist is bound by professional confidentiality. She alone has access to the client file and ensures that unauthorized persons cannot access this information.

The data in your child’s file may only be used for the following purposes:

  • To inform other healthcare providers, e.g., when referring to another practitioner (only with your consent)
  • To provide information to a substitute colleague during absence (only with your consent)
  • For anonymized use during peer supervision/intervision
  • For invoicing and financial administration
  • To contact you by phone or email when necessary for the provision of services
  • To inform you about changes to services

Retention Periods

  • Personal data received via website registrations are retained for 6 months.
  • Client files are retained for 20 years, in accordance with Article 454, Book 7 of the Dutch Civil Code.
  • Video recordings are retained for a maximum of 6 months after recording.
  • Invoicing and financial data are retained for 7 years, in accordance with Dutch tax regulations.

Sharing Data with Third Parties

Practice for Integrative Child Therapy – Jantien van Zuilen will only share personal data with third parties if this is necessary for the execution of the agreement with you, or to comply with a legal obligation. With companies that process your data on our behalf, we enter into a processing agreement to ensure the same level of confidentiality and security of your data.

Data Security

Practice for Integrative Child Therapy – Jantien van Zuilen takes the protection of your data seriously and implements appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, or unauthorized alteration.

  • Client files are stored on a separate external hard drive.
  • The transfer of personal data between client and therapist takes place in a secure environment and not via email.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

The Practice for Integrative Child Therapy reserves the right to amend this privacy policy. This privacy policy was last updated in June 2018.
